The Ministry of Health announced progress this week on its initiative to digitize patient and claims records under Egypt's universal health insurance system.

The rollout is intended to reduce processing times for claims and give healthcare providers faster access to patient coverage information at the point of care.

Officials said the digitization effort is being phased in across governorates, with full national coverage targeted within the coming years as infrastructure investment continues.
